January goings-on at Tuck

Once we had returned to campus after the winter holidays and got back into our routines here in Hanover, it felt like there was just one tiny weekend of downtime, and then the busy pace of Tuck's social scene picked back up, seemingly immediately!

Earlier this month, over 200 Tuckies and TPs headed up to Montreal, for some new scenery and friendly competition.  The co-ed soccer team, Men's A, B, and All-Star Women's hockey teams all faced off against teams from Concordia University's John Molson School of Business; there were huge fan bases and cheering sections for the Tuck teams!  We had some wins and losses, but more importantly, lots of fun!  There were Tuck-organized events/bar locales for the evenings, and folks spent their days relaxing, shopping, sightseeing, or spectating games.

This past weekend was Tuck's Winter formal (there's a formal each quarter); this one was held about 45minutes away in a ballroom of the Killington Resort, where many Tuckies and TPs visit regularly to ski or snowboard with their heavily discounted all-season ski passes.  Some Tuckies spent the entire weekend at Killington, skiing the days and enjoying the formal on Saturday night; others just came out for dinner and the dance (school-sponsored shuttles took groups to and from Hanover).

With some fellow TPs, dear friends!

With my handsome Tuckie!

Which brings me to... I can't believe it's almost February, and along with it, one of the best weekends at Tuck: Winter Carnival!!!  If you're unfamiliar, it's a weekend filled with ski racing, snow sculptures, and the famous Kneisel Cup; considered by many to be one of the country's premiere MBA events.  Each year over 600 skiers and fans from up to 15 of the top business schools in the U.S. to gather at Tuck for a weekend of competition and revelry.  I'm still recovering from all of last year's fun... this year is sure to be more of the same!
