Eric's teaching and research focuses on the impact of information technology on supply chain management. Through grants from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Science Foundation, he is studying how information security and trust effect supply chain relationships. His recent book, Managing Information Risk and the Economics of Security (Springer 2009) examines how organizations can protect their information assets. He has testified before the US Congress on information security and collaboration and published many related articles in the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Sloan Management Review, Harvard Business Review, and CIO Magazine. He is particularly interested in the supply chain challenges faced by industries with short product life cycles such as computers, toys, and apparel. He was previously employed by Vanderbilt University, Hewlett-Packard Co., and Systems Modeling Corp. He has consulted for diverse companies such as Nokia, Hewlett-Packard, Accenture, Pepsi, DHL, The Parthenon Group, Lucent, Mattel, Campbell-Hausfeld, Fleetguard, and Kulic & Soffa. Eric holds an MS in industrial engineering and operations research from Penn State University, and a PhD in industrial engineering from Stanford University.
Hans Brechbühl

Hans leads the center's outreach efforts. Before joining Tuck, he was group VP of corporate development for Metromedia International Telecommunications and an executive for a financial dotcom. At MITI, Hans led business development and strategy from 1998-2000, negotiating cable, telecoms, and internet deals. As managing director of the Davidson Institute from 1993-98, Hans co-directed a $3.5 million independent business education institute focused on emerging markets at the University of Michigan Business School. He built corporate partnerships with AT&T, Whirlpool, P&G, and other Fortune 500 companies and was responsible for establishing all aspects of the Institute's operations as a startup. In a previous life, Hans served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army where he led tactical units on the Iron Curtain in Europe for six years. He holds an AM from Harvard University and a BS in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Hans is of Swiss heritage and speaks a number of European languages.
Kelli C. Pippin

Kelli leads the marketing and communication efforts of the center. She brings with her 14 years of integrated marketing and public relations experience gained in the luxury consumer products and renewable energy industries. She has developed multiple online loyalty programs, back-end ordering systems and client-facing websites with an emphasis on rich media, usability, social networking and scalability. She works to position brands to compete globally and become leaders in their markets. Kelli holds a BA from Virginia Wesleyan College.
Tim Paradis
Program Manager

Tim's focus on conceiving, coordinating and executing programs for the center comes after a decade spent as a reporter and editor in financial news. Most recently, he covered the stock market for the Associated Press in New York. He documented the stock market's run-up to its peak in 2007 and the subsequent crash of 2008 and early 2009. The meltdown on Wall Street made the AP's stock market coverage some of the most widely read news on the Internet. Prior to joining the AP, Tim was a writer and editor at Dow Jones Newswires in New York, where he handled breaking news and flashed headlines used by Wall Street traders. Tim holds a BA from Ohio State University.
Leslie Tait

Leslie joined the Center for Digital Strategies in October 2001 after more than a decade in private industry as an office and laboratory administrative professional. In addition to Leslie's administrative assistant duties at the center, she also provides academic support for the center team and affiliated faculty.
Ajit Appari

Ajit's research interests include studying the management and policy issues of using information technology (IT) in the healthcare sector such as value (quality and cost) impact of IT use, and economics of information security risks including HIPAA compliance. His research has been published in journals including Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, IEEE Software, International Journal of Internet and Enterprise Management, and Journal of Systems & Software. He was previously employed by Honeywell Technology Solutions Lab at Bangalore, an R&D division of Honeywell International. Ajit holds an M.Tech. (master of technology) in Quality, Reliability and Operations Research from Indian Statistical Institute (India) and a PhD in Business Administration from Syracuse University.
Juhee Kwon

Juhee recently earned a PhD from Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. She received a master's degree in Information Management Systems from Carnegie Mellon University in 2003. Juhee's research interests cover a variety of topics in Management. Foremost among them is her investigation of Information Risk Management. She has a bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Kyungpook National University in Korea. Prior to joining the Purdue PhD program, she worked as a business analyst at Samsung Electronics and as a software engineer at Yahoo and LG.
