As part of a broad strategic learning experience, before, during and after the program, your Leadership and Strategic Impact experience offers you the opportunity to explore and expand your self-awareness as a leader and to hone your personal leadership style.
Prior to coming to Tuck
As part of the pre-program preparation, you will have the opportunity to undergo a leadership assessment with individuals at your organization who have had experience with you in a leadership role. The purpose of this assessment is to see how others at your organization perceive your leadership and to uncover your leadership blind spots. The assessment is optional, but experience has shown that it is a powerful part of the overall transformational learning experience.
During the program
- Via a simulation as well as classroom and breakout sessions you will examine with Tuck professor Pino Audia what makes leaders effective – leadership styles; influence without authority; situational leadership and how to better respond as a leader to continually changing business environments.
- You will participate in a workshop with Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, world authority on helping successful leaders achieve behavioral change for themselves and their teams.
- You will review your leadership assessment report with an executive coach who will help you understand your strengths and areas for improvement as well as helping you develop a personal action plan.
- You will complete a Myers-Briggs assessment and participate in an experiential team performance ‘leadership lab’ to practice and understand leadership behaviors and how to get results with others.
After the program
You will return to your company with an action plan to be a more successful leader. You will have a clearer picture of what it takes to lead effectively and how you can have a direct impact on the working atmosphere of your company, team or division, and ultimately on the organization.
Note: You can also opt for follow-on one-on-one coaching sessions with your executive coach. This additional coaching is not covered in the program fee.
Leadership and Strategic Impact is designed for managers and executives whose actions and decisions have strategic implications for their organizations and for those who wish to develop strategic leadership skills. Because organizations extend strategic processes and responsibilities to executives who focus on key business issues, this program is appropriate for a broad array of high-potential and senior leaders in addition to the executive team. The program content is appropriate for a wide range of industries and will benefit executives from corporate, nonprofit, and government agencies.
