While working in China, I experienced firsthand the challenges of
building a multinational business. I discovered an added level of
complexity between local managers and U.S. colleagues based solely
on cultural differences. It was a wake-up call: leaders need to
comprehend organizations in human terms. My first encounter with
Tuck convinced me they understood this too.
It was clear right away
that Tuck comprehended who I was—my situation, my aspirations. The
interviewer explained what Tuck offered me and then talked about
what I could offer my classmates.
This was exactly what I wanted in
a business school—a relentless focus on individuals committed to
developing their communities and, ultimately, the world. I can't express the difference
Tuck has already made in my life.
