Growing up, Tuknekah Noble T'07 wanted to be an engineer. She pursued this dream, earning an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering and then securing a position with IBM's microelectronics division. But six years into her career, her dreams changed. "While I still loved engineering and my job, I could not see myself as an engineer for the rest of my life," she says.
Noble began researching graduate programs, and attended the Tuck Diversity Conference. "After that weekend I knew Tuck was the place for me," she says. "I was blown away by the collegial atmosphere and the way the whole school was involved in putting on the conference. I wanted to be a part of that community!"
Noble decided to participate in the MBA/MPA dual-degree program between Tuck and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. "I really enjoy management and am fascinated by the world economy, so I decided to pursue a career in international trade and finance through this three-year program. It is the perfect combination for me. The complimentary programs allow me to concentrate in the areas that captivate me, such as cross-border transactions, and are preparing me for a long and productive career."
Through her involvement in the MBA/MPA program, Noble has had the opportunity to meet and work with senior-level global business executives and government-elected officials.
"The exposure I have had to distinguished leaders has been amazing—from classmates, visiting executives, and alumni at Tuck, to the heads of states, senators, and representatives who participate in my classes at the Kennedy School," she says. "After this experience I find myself comfortable in environments I would not have been before. I am able to see myself in those high-level positions in the future."
