The Upper Valley: Beauty All Around

By Marcy H. TP'14

The past week I've found myself really feeling in awe of how beautiful the Upper Valley is.  I remember when we first moved here a couple months ago and felt in awe of how many trees there were and how GREEN everything was!  I love driving around here, passing rustic homes with bright shutters on the windows, surrounded by fields and trees. I think I was starting to get acclimated to the scenery, but then the leaves started changing colors and the sun is lowering in the sky giving the area a whole different look, and bringing on a renewed appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us every day.

We recently went to a local farm to pick raspberries, apples, and pumpkins with the Tiny Tuckies group (a playgroup for Tuck student families, who meet about once a week). It was a beautiful day, in a beautiful location, and a grand time was had by all.  My boys picked out some decorative pumpkins for our porch along with a bagful of apples ("for Daddy to take for his lunch at school," my four year old said). They also got a big kick out of seeing real, live tractors at work on a farm.  Meanwhile, I was blown away by the scenery.
