INTERNATIONAL ARENA SERIES

Sponsored by Tuck's Center for International Business, the Tuck International Arena Series brings visitors and faculty from Tuck and Dartmouth together with students to explore issues affecting international business and public policy. Most talks are open to the Dartmouth community.

Tuck International Forum

Organized by Tuck students and sponsored by Tuck's Center for International Business and the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding at Dartmouth, the annual conference focuses on current business issues of particular interest to students. Panel discussions, speakers, and networking are all part of the event. In 2006, the conference centered on "Global Companies, Global Careers:
Key Insights for Tomorrow's Business Leaders." 

Tuck World business Forum

Sponsored by Tuck's Center for International Business, this high-level conference gathers senior business executives, government policy makers, scholars, journalists, and alumni from around the globe to debate critical issues facing international business. The 2006 fourm, held in Tokyo, focused on the multiple challenges facing Japanese companies today.

Visiting Executives

Tuck brings a range of high-level global business leaders to campus. These visitors typically spend a day at the school, attending classes, meeting with students and faculty, and giving lectures. Past speakers have included Carlos Ghosn, president and CEO of Nissan; Kevin Roberts, CEO worldwide of advertising giant Saatchi & Saatchi; and Indra Nooyi, president and CFO of PepsiCo.

Student clubs

Tuck offers students to organize a variety of internationally focused clubs and events. From international lunchtime chats to the popular Argentinean barbeque, Tuck offers something for everyone.

International Chat Series

Sponsored by the International Club, this series of lively lunchtime discussions cover a different country in each chat—topics for the chat on India covered everything from outsourcing in call centers to Bollywood to the caste system. Open to the Tuck community, participants are invited to bring their lunch.

 

International Food Festival

A favorite tradition at Tuck! Each year, first-year students show off their culinary might. Hosted by Tuck faculty, administrators, and second-year students, the event features a range of cuisines—Southern American, Indian, Peruvian, and more.

 

Tuck In London

Tuck's recent all-Europe alumni event featured Tuck Alumni Lifelong Learning classes with Tuck Professors Colin Blaydon and Kevin Lane Keller, dinner, and keynote address by Professor Matt Slaughter.  Future international alumni events are planned for locations around the world.

Dartmouth Community

Dartmouth College has a vibrant and diverse community, and attracts students, faculty, staff from around the world. To enrich the Dartmouth experience, the college sponsors visits from internationally renowned speakers in fields ranging from politics to science to the arts. Mexican novelist Carlos Fuentes, writer Maxine Hong Kingston, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu are among recent guests. The Hopkins Center for the Arts brings acclaimed attractions in international music, theater, and film to campus. Recent visitors include Brazil guitarist Jo‹o Bosco and Cuban-born pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba; musicians and dancers from the Yi, Wa, Dai and Naxi ethnic minority groups in Southwest China's Yunnan Province; and the award-winning Children of Uganda's jubilant performance of traditional East African dances. The college also supports a broad network of affinity and cultural groups.

Dartmouth's John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding helps students prepare for a world in which local, national, and global concerns are more strongly linked than ever. It promotes quality research on international issues, with an emphasis on work that is innovative and cross-disciplinary, and stimulates public debate on pressing international issues. Along with Tuck's Center for International Business, the Dickey Center co-sponsors the Tuck International Forum.
