
CEO of Bristol-Myers Squibb to Give Tuck's Investiture Address

HANOVER, N.H.—The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth is pleased to announce that Peter R. Dolan will address the Tuck class of 2002 at their Investiture ceremony on Saturday, June 8. Mr. Dolan is chairman and chief executive officer of Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, and a member of the company's board of directors.
At Bristol-Myers Squibb, Mr. Dolan has moved forcefully to sharpen the company's focus on its core pharmaceuticals business, where it is a global leader in innovative treatments for cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, and HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases. Under his leadership, Bristol-Myers Squibb has made several key strategic acquisitions and divestitures, including the purchase in October 2001 of DuPont Pharmaceuticals Company. Mr. Dolan also has made accelerating the company's pharmaceutical research and development pipeline a top priority, with emphasis on promising new compounds for schizophrenia, HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other areas of serious unmet medical need.
Since joining Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1988, Mr. Dolan has held senior management positions in the company's key business sectors, including pharmaceuticals, consumer products, and nutritional products. He became president of the company and a member of its board of directors in January 2000, CEO in May 2001, and chairman of the board in September 2001.
Mr. Dolan is a member of the board of directors of American Express Company, a trustee of Tufts University, a member of the board of managers of the New York Botanical Garden, and a member of the steering committee of the National Dialogue on Cancer.
He received a BA from Tufts University in 1978 and earned his MBA from Tuck in 1980.
