HANOVER, N.H.—The incoming class of 2008 at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth is breaking school records for the highest percentage of international students (34 percent), the highest percentage of women (33 percent), and the highest average score on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT: 710) in Tuck's history.

"Tuck has always been proud to compete at the highest levels when it comes to the quality of our incoming students, and this year in terms of experience, character, and academic achievement we are continuing to follow an upward trend," says Dean Paul Danos.

"Today's global economy demands that top business school students experience diversity firsthand, are challenged by their fellow students, and graduate with a worldwide alumni network that can open doors on every continent—and Tuck's class of 2008 will have all of that," he notes.

The new class comes after a greater than 30 percent jump in applications this year. Since last year, Tuck has grown its international makeup from 28 to 34 percent, its amount of female students from 31 to 33 percent, and its average GMAT score from 699 to 710.

Also in the last year, Tuck has launched outreach initiatives in India, Europe, and Mexico and has increased its presence in dozens of other countries. This summer, three media reports ranked Tuck among top MBA programs for Hispanics (Hispanic Business), Mexicans (Expansion), and Latin Americans (AmericaEconomia). Earlier this year Tuck was the first institution in the country to be selected to join the Minority Business Hall of Fame.

Founded in 1900, Tuck is the first graduate school of management and consistently ranks among the top business schools worldwide.
