Class of 2012 Photo… For each graduating class, the taking of the class photo is a memorable event. The photo of the Class of 2012 will join the other photos lining the walls of Tuck Hall. In recognition of the second-years' achievement, the first-year students relived five past Tuck events: the Scavenger Hunt, the Boathouse Party, the Montreal Trip, Winter Carnival, and Tuck GIVES.

Executive Voices: Business and… Esi Sekyiamah T'07 is deputy program manager at Technoserve, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that helps entrepreneurial men and women in poor areas of the developing world to build businesses that create income, opportunity, and economic growth for their families, communities, and countries. She visited Tuck for Africa Highlight Week, where she participated on a panel discussing social impact. In this video, she talks about the using her business education in the nonprofit sector to make an impact in Africa, a career goal she achieved at Tuck.

Global Business Perspectives: Randy… Randy Millian T'78 is president of Diageo Latin America and Caribbean. He visited Tuck recently to participate in Latin America Highlight Week as the keynote speaker. His address was titled Driving Success in Latin America: Lessons from the Trenches. In this video he covers the topic of multinational corporations in Latin America, the surprises of working with Latin cultures, and the role of corporate social responsibility in emerging markets. He also offers some advice for MBA students embarking on a global career.

What if You Could… Tuck professor Vijay Govindarajan posed this question in his blog last August, and the response was overwhelming. Since the fall of 2011 Tuck students put their MBA education to work to answer this question.

Corporate Strategy and Social… Greg Hills T'00, managing director of consulting firm FSG, at a workshop during the 2012 Business & Society conference, explored the choices and challenges facing corporate leaders working to link their core business strategies with social impact. The student led conference is hosted annually at Tuck by the Allwin Initiative for Corporate Citizenship.

The Tuck Experience Whatever their reasons for pursuing an MBA, students leave Tuck transformed. “There aren’t too many times in our lives when we can have life-changing experiences,” says Professor Phillip Stocken, “and this is one of them.”

Update from the Dean:… In this update Dean Danos talks about the employment success for the Class of 2011 and what it says about economic prospects, the February launch of myTuck, upcoming events in Hanover, and the value of Tuck's approach to MBA education in these uncertain times.

Professor Finkelstein on Kodak:… Professor Finkelstein says there are three lessons to be learned from the demise of Kodak. Lesson One: it's not easy for a company closely tied to one technology or way of doing things to change and adapt. Lesson Two: even if the company looks for new opportunities when the core business starts to slows down, they are often not successful. Lesson Three: if Kodak had refocused its efforts earlier, the company's fate could have played out more positively for shareholders.

Tuck Hockey: A League… Hockey is more than just a game at Tuck. It's woven into the fabric of the school, an all-comers activity that builds on Tuck's time-honored traditions of teamwork and community. But first you have to learn to stand on three legs.

Geir Ramleth, CIO, Bechtel,… Geir visited Tuck to attend the 10th Anniversary Roundtable on Digital Strategies and participate in a Britt Technology Impact Series panel discussion. Along with other CIOs, Geir considered the myriad risks and rewards of cloud computing.

European Sovereign Debt Crisis… Professor Matt Slaughter discusses how although EU leaders laid out broad policy aspirations for how to resolve their sovereign debt crisis, there are difficult policy actions that need to been taken to realize those aspirations. One of those difficult actions is finding capital to expand the European Financial Stability Facility. In a telling sign of where global economic power lies today, instead of reaching out to the United States or Japan, European officials traveled to China—the country whose stunning economic growth and sound macroeconomic policies give the Chinese government today trillions of dollars in investible capital.
