His influential contributions include an award-winning article on “reverse innovation” (with Vijay Govindarajan) and their 2018 book, Reverse innovation in health care (HBR Press), a finalist for the Tata Book award. His other path-breaking work, Emerging multinationals in emerging markets (Cambridge U Press), showed how emerging-market firms could become global giants. The author of eight books on emerging markets, in 2008 he was elected a Fellow of the Academy of International Business.
