Tuck Comes to Town

Been in a Tuck classroom lately? If not, look for a professor coming to a location near you. The Osman Tuck Alumni Lifelong Learning Program (Osman TALL Program) has helped bring Tuck faculty to alumni throughout the world. If your Tuck club hasn't yet participated and would like to, contact Tuck Alumni Services at 603-646-2837. Here's a sample of what's in store through the Osman TALL Program:

On October 25, Professor Ken French presented an Osman TALL lecture on "Equilibrium Markets: What Is an Efficient Amount of Inefficiency?" Among those gathering at Professor French's beautiful office in Santa Monica was a great group of T'77s, with Frank Commons, Mike Montgomery D'76, and Mark Rohman all present. Stu Fishler T'76 helped spearhead this event.

Professors Vijay Govindarajan and Chris Trimble talked to alumni in Seattle on December 15 about strategic innovation in established firms. Phil Wingard T'03 and Shannon Huffman T'03 helped organize the event. (VG and Chris are on the road promoting their new book, Ten Rules for Strategic Innovators, so look for them in a city near you this year!)

Enjoying a dinner with alumni were Professors Richard Sansing, Rich D'Aveni, and Paul Argenti on their June visit to Amsterdam. Professors Sansing and Phillip Stocken visited with alumni, current students, and prospective students in San Francisco on August 10. Professor Syd Finkelstein dined with Hiroshi Hashiguchi T'03, Seiji Ikuta T'03, and Nao Inoue T'05 in Osaka, Japan, during an October visit.

In other alumni get-togethers, Tuck clubs on both coasts had fun in their own coastal ways. The Hampshire House on Boston Common was the site of the Tuck Club of Boston's annual summer cocktail party on August 11. Not to be outdone, the Tuck Clubs of Northern and Southern California joined forces with the Dartmouth Club of Silicon Valley for a wine-pairing picnic on August 21 at Windy Oaks Estate and Vineyard, whose proprietors are Tuck's own Judy and Jim Schultze T'76.

Things were somewhat more serious in Seattle, where the Tuck Club hosted a Q&A session with Peter Neupert T'80 about his career in the healthcare and biotech fields. And a well-tanned contingent enjoyed the Spanish cuisine of Mosaico Restaurant at the South Florida Tuck Club's annual holiday party on December 5.
