The Reaching Out MBA LGBT Conference 2012 in Boston – organized in part by three Tuckies!

By Blog Guest

It is fall in Hanover, which is arguably the most beautiful time of the year.  Leaves are changing, the weather is cooling, and you are able to re-introduce your favorite warm weather gear!  Most people are out hiking, biking, fishing – enjoying all the upper valley has to offer.  Three T’13’s, Baj Mandhania, Shane Proch-Wilson, and Hannah Yankelevich are experiencing a much different fall, full of fundraising, on-the-ground marketing, and logistical planning for this year’s Reaching Out MBA LGBT Conference in Boston.  The conference mission is to empower LGBT MBA students in school and beyond into their professional lives.  The conference boasts 1,100 attendees, 80 sponsoring companies, and most importantly, an affordable $99 admission for students for an entire weekend of programming!

This year the conference theme is “Together, Building Community”.  This theme was selected to promote networking and affiliation at and outside of the conference.  There will be networking workshops and fun social events to promote relationship building at the conference – ones that hopefully will outlive the conference weekend.   In addition to this, there is a pre-MBA admissions fair, a case competition, and an entrepreneurship pitch competition with a combined $15,000+ in prize money!

During the process, Tuckies and staff from inside and outside of the Tuck Gay-Straight Alliance have been volunteering and helping Baj, Hannah, and Shane.  We are extremely proud of this accomplishment, and are sending a great crowd of Tuckies to represent at the conference this year!
