Course Description

We will meet with entrepreneurial companies in Australia, focusing on sectors of the new economy in which Australia has a growing presence, such as green energy, food and wellness, and high-tech medical products. We will also meet with financiers, including venture capitalists and private equity funds, discussing the companies and entrepreneurs they fund and what makes Australia a great place to build an Asia-orientated company or fund. As examples of the companies we will seek to visit, the Mar. ‘24 GIX will visit EcoFibre, a growing international company in the eco / new foods space that uses hemp and CBD oil to manufacture food, fabrics, and medicines; First Australians Capital, an impact investment firm; prominent venture capital firms AirTree and Stoic; and growth equity investment firm Navis. In addition to company visits, we will visit the Australian Graduate School of Business at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney and have the opportunity for cultural immersion, including learning about Australian history and visiting the famous Sydney Opera House.
