Job Search Timeline

Tuck Career Services is committed to helping 100 percent of seeking first-year students obtain a summer internship each year.

Pre-Tuck

Begin developing an internship search plan. We will connect with you to understand your interests and help you start to craft a strategic plan. In addition, resources to help you explore careers will be provided, along with materials to help you draft your resume in the Tuck format, which will be required by Tuck Launch. You may also wish to register for any pre-term career events, including company-led events; some of which already offer opportunities for internship interviews. Throughout the summer our career advisers devote significant time to our incoming class—ensuring you are able to hit the ground running when you arrive.

Summer Term

Make connections and find opportunities—employers and alumni will come to Tuck throughout the term, and you’ll have the chance to visit companies via student treks. This is the time to explore, reach out, gather information, and further refine your goals.

Fall Term

Prepare for interviews–case interviews, stock pitches, fit interviews, and more. Each industry and company has their own interview format. Career Services teams with companies, alumni, and second-year students to help you learn the language and requirements of your target career path.

Winter & Spring Terms

Interviews and offers. While these can happen throughout the year, many take place from January through the end of the academic year.

Summer Internship

Internships are typically 10–12 weeks long. Most students begin internships in early June, leaving a few weeks at the end of the summer for vacation and travel.

Tuck Voices

“The pathway to a job in tech is much less straightforward than say consulting. But I learned pretty quickly that, at Tuck, if you have a question or a need, a lot of people will go out of their way to help you.”
