Sachem Village

Sachem Village, located off Route 10 in Hanover (and about 1.5 miles from the Tuck campus), provides housing for graduate students who come to Dartmouth with their partners or families.

Tuck partners report that Sachem Village’s greatest advantage is camaraderie. When students are working late into the evening, many partners enjoy having each other close by for socializing and support. Many Tuck Students carpool to Tuck, leaving their cars available for their partners, or they can take the shuttle, which runs from Tuck to Sachem in the morning and again in the afternoon/evenings. Another option for commuting is the Advance Transit shuttle.

Sachem Village is home to 255 residences offered to the Dartmouth College Community and Tuck has been allotted some of these units. Sachem units range in the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and square footage, all of which are reflected in the price. Some of the older buildings (Field Road and North Sachem) are smaller units and less expensive. (See the sample Sachem Floor Plans for an idea of the various layouts.) Also, please note that the Field Road units do not include heat in the monthly rent; however, the other Sachem units do include heat in the monthly rent. Washer and dryer hookups are available in most units (note: washers and dryers are not provided). Certain floor plans will accommodate stackable washers and dryers only, while others will only accommodate side-by-side machines. Field Road units do not have washer/dryer hook ups.

The Sachem lottery and housing assignment process is handled through the MBA Program Office. In recent years there is more demand for Sachem units than there are available units. If you are coming to Tuck with your family or partner who will be living in the Upper Valley full time, and wish to live in Sachem, please fill out the Sachem Village Housing Application. This application process is convenient for incoming students looking for housing as you will be able to submit your apartment preference, then the MBA Program Office can run the lottery and make an assignment based on your needs. Once you have submitted the online application, and after the deadline, the MBA Program Office will begin to assign units.

Please note: Tuck students are not allowed to apply for Sachem units via the Dartmouth Real Estate website. Not all floor plans will be available as many students stay in their apartments for two years.
